As most of you know, I am a BIG BIG BIG fan of speaking my mind, and my take on my own company is that I really do want to build a culture around what I stand for. The things I say reflect that, and I dont mind losing potential business if the client doesn't match up with my set of values, because I don't feel that I can help them 100% when that is the case. Its nothing personal to them, but I have a passion for what I do, and the people that don't fit in with that passion I don't want a part of my company.

Your company may not be the same, and that is perfectly understandable. You have to find that balance though between public and private, and between the company and you. You have to figure out before hand what you can say and what you cannot as the face of the company. Some companies put sales above all else, and if that's the case you have to tread very lightly.

I think we are on the verge of a very social movement though, and I think soon everyones life will be public. I say embrace it, because I have nothing to hide.

Managing a reputation is kind of like caring for a baby or a dog...not that the two are any thing alike, but ...errr...nvm.

It takes care, time and energy. Sometimes its more emotional energy than you want to put in, but like everything else in business, it is an investment you will get back later. Customer service is critical to a reputation - and it is essentially the face of your customer interaction. The face is what people see, its what they talk to and its what has a conversation with them.

Your face needs to be calm, patient, helpful and knowledgable.

Do it right kids!

@libgrl :) Thanks.

It bothers me when people get so caught up in tactics that they forget to write good meaningful content. My thing with this blog was always to write what I wanted to write, and I think ive stuck to that so far.

I really appreciate your input!!!

1 damn comment ;)

an the serious side, thanks for making fun of the flood of posts out there telling you how to write the perfect blog post, get more comments, and attract more visitors.. i don't think you missed a single tactic! (and it's all BS, write what you love, what you know, and do it in a way that makes you happy - i think you managed that here quite nicely!)
