What Can *YOU* Get Done For 5$?
|
Have you ever needed something done that was just a bit outside of your expertise, but still small enough that you couldn’t justify hiring someone? I have. It used to really irk me that I didn’t have that particular skill, but I knew it wasn’t that big of a job, so I didn’t want to waste the money. I would usually end up googling it and would learn the skill myself. Now granted that did give me my knowledge addiction, and that’s really the reason for my success today, but within my business, all it did was slow things down.
Like a tiny grain of sand in your eye, it doesn’t stop you from seeing, it just annoys the hell out of you.
Guess what though? I’ve got a solution for you.
There’s been a site circulating around the internet for sometime now that aims to do one thing: help you get stuff done. The beauty about this particular site though is that it’s open to the public, so people that have a skill can offer what they’re good at, and people that need something done can request a certain skill-set.
That’s not even the best part of it though.
The best thing hands down about this site is that EVERYTHING IS ONLY $5!! Its like a gigantic dollar store for the internet, except everything is 5$…so its like a gigantic $5 store I guess.
By now, you probably know I’m talking about www.fiverr.com. If you didn’t know, you really should check it out ASAP. Ive already had some people do some link building and SEO work for me, and I was shocked they were willing to do it for $5. Ive saved hundreds of dollars in cash, opportunity and time already, and Ive only been using the site for a month or two.
Be Careful
Now this site is kick-ass for outsourcing little tasks that you need done as soon as possible, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t scammers. There is a scammer lurking in every crevice of the internet – remember that.
With that being said though, use common sense and don’t give out any personal information.
As for the actual work being done there, the system in place to protect vendors and consumers is actually pretty effective. You pay the $5, then fiverr.com holds the money until the work is completed, then they get paid. It works pretty well, and I’ve never had anyone straight up not deliver. People do stray on their promise though, so watch out.
The best thing to do is to look for posts that have at least some positive feedback. One thing that I’ve found to work really well is to search for a particular service and then right under the search bar next to the “Filter Results By” you should click “Popularity” or “Ranking”.
Most of the time the top results are pretty credible, so you shouldn’t have a problem.
Final Words
As with anything on the internet, just use common sense and dont act like a monkey. I like to trust people first until they screw me over, kind of like an innocent until proven guilty kind of thing, and I find it works pretty well. The same applies here.
But hey, even if they do your stuff wrong, it’s only $5 right?
So what about you? have you ever used www.fiverr.com or a site like it? Was your experience positive or negative?
